Written By Acacia Crossley

Though pizza has been around for decades, stuffed crust pizza is a recent invention improving upon the humble pizza and making it all that more delicious. After all, who is going to turn away extra cheese with their pizza?

The only issue with stuffed crust pizza is how filling it can be. If you try to eat a stuffed crust pizza by yourself, you will probably find plenty of leftovers. Luckily, you can reheat stuffed crust pizza to enjoy the next day.

To reheat stuffed crust pizza, place it onto a microwave-safe plate then cover it with a damp kitchen towel before reheating in 30-second blasts. It should take around 3 minutes in total to heat up.

How to Reheat Stuffed Crust Pizza

Just like when reheating a regular thin pizza, there are several methods you can use to reheat stuffed crust pizza.

Not only will these methods make your pizza crispy and crunchy once more, but they will also remelt the cheese on top of your pizza and in the stuffed crust for that iconic cheese pull.

Just follow any of the reheating methods below for the best reheated stuffed crust pizza:

How to Reheat Stuffed Crust Pizza in the Microwave

You may not always be hungry for half a stuffed crust pizza, but when you are craving a cheesy snack, a single slice would be perfect.

Placing a slice of your stuffed crust pizza directly into your microwave will dry out the cheese and crust too much for it to be an enjoyable snack. Instead, try this method:

  1. Place On A Plate
Take a microwavable plate and place your stuffed crust pizza slice directly into the plate. If you are wanting to reheat 2 pieces at once, try to space the pieces so that they are not overlapping.
  2. Dampen A Cloth
To add some moisture back into the crust of your pizza, slightly dampen a kitchen towel and place it over the top of the pizza.
  3. Reheat
Place your covered pizza in your microwave and reheat in 30-second intervals.
  4. Serve
Your pizza should take a total of 2-3 minutes to fully reheat. Once the whole pizza is hot enough, you can serve and enjoy!

How to Reheat Stuffed Crust Pizza in the Oven

Just like you would a frozen pizza, you can reheat a stuffed crust pizza in the oven following a few simple steps.

These steps are laid out by Pizza Hut themselves which encourages customers to heat up their leftovers to avoid waste. Here are the instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven
Allow your oven to warm up at 176C for 10 or so minutes before reheating your pizza to prevent a soggy crust.
  2. Place On Baking Tray
Cover a baking tray with parchment paper and spread your leftover stuffed crust pizza out on the tray. Do not have any pieces overlapping.
  3. Reheat
Place your pizza filled baking tray in the middle of your oven and set a timer for 5 minutes. Close your oven and leave the pizza to reheat.
  4. Turn
After 5 minutes, use a tea towel or oven mitt to turn the baking tray around in the oven. This will ensure that the pizza will reheat evenly without leaving any cold patches.
  5. Reheat Again
Set another timer for 5 minutes and leave the pizza to finish reheating.
  6. Serve
Depending on how well your oven works, you may need to reheat your pizza for longer than the total 10 minutes. But as soon as the stuffed crust pizza is heated all the way through, serve it straight out of the oven.

How to Reheat Stuffed Crust Pizza Successfully

Reheating pizza may seem like a simple enough task but it is very easy to ruin a perfectly good pizza when reheating it. You could make it too dry or too soggy.

Stuffed crust pizzas run into many of the same problems as regular pizzas in reheating. So, here are a few helpful tips you can use to ensure that you successfully reheat your stuffed crust pizza every time:

  • Avoid Overlapping – No matter which reheating method you use, the whole of your stuffed crust pizza slices must be exposed to heat to reheat properly. Make sure that when you arrange your pizza slices on a plate, baking tray or pan, you do not have any overlapping slices. Otherwise, you will have some slices that are overbaked and others that are still cold.
  • Use A Cup Of Water – You can reheat stuffed crust pizza up to 4 days after it was cooked if you have kept it refrigerated the whole time. However, you will find the longer you keep the pizza, the staler it will become.

To prevent eating stale crusts, place a (heat-safe) mug of cold water in the oven or microwave with your pizza to create some extra moisture. This will make your pizza crust perfectly soft again.
  • Reheat Meat Toppings Extra – The cheese and crust of stuffed crust pizza is easy enough to reheat but if you have opted for some meat toppings on the pizza then you will need take extra care to reheat your pizza.

This is because meat is more prone to developing bad bacteria over time and will need to reach piping-hot temperatures to kill that bacteria. Reheat stuffed crust meat pizzas for an extra 5 or so minutes than other pizzas.

Is It Safe to Reheat Stuffed Crust Pizza?

How safe your stuffed crust pizza is to reheat depends entirely on the kind of toppings that you have chosen for your pizza. A plain cheese stuffed crust pizza is going to be much easier to reheat in terms of safety than a double meat feast pizza because of how prone to bad bacteria meat is.

That being said, ensuring that your meat pizza has been stored in a fridge for up to 3 days and is heated thoroughly so any growing bacteria on the meat is killed will make the pizza safe to reheat and eat.
