Baked brie is an easy way to please pretty much anyone at a get-together, whether a work Christmas party or a Friday night dinner with friends. The whole range of food combinations that can be dipped into the runny baked brie is endless.

For brie to develop its fondue-like texture, it needs to be baked. But what if you are unable to finish a whole baked brie? Instead of wasting all of that precious cheese, you can simply reheat the baked brie!

To reheat baked brie, wrap it up and pop it into a hot oven with a splash of water for around 10 to 15 minutes. You should avoid using the microwave when reheating baked brie.

How to Reheat Baked Brie

There are a handful of ways that you can try reheating your baked brie. So long as you can reheat the brie slowly, then you will have no issue reheating your brie.

That being said, the various methods you can use to reheat bake brie will affect the brie cheese in slightly different ways. Keep this in mind when you are deciding how best to reheat your baked brie:

How to Reheat Baked Brie in the Oven

Most people will use an oven when they initially bake their brie as it is the easiest way to melt the cheese without drying it out. So, it makes sense that your oven will be the best tool to reheat your baked brie. Here is how:

  1. Heat The Oven
Before placing your baked brie in the oven, allow the oven to preheat to 120C for 10 to 15 minutes.
  2. Wrap The Brie
While your oven is warming up, take some kitchen foil and cover the entirety of your baked brie. Do not pull the foil too tight, as the brie will need room to breathe.
  3. Place On A Pan
Using either a baking sheet or a casserole dish, place your wrapped baked brie directly onto the pan. To make clean-up easier, you can first prep the baking sheet with some more tin foil, just in case the cheese leaks through its case.
  4. Add Water
The key to perfectly runny baked brie is to add a few tablespoons of water to the baking sheet or casserole dish to create steam in the oven.
  5. Reheat
Carefully place your brie into your oven to reheat for 10 minutes. For larger servings of baked brie, reheat for 15 minutes.
  6. Serve
Before you serve your reheated baked brie, carefully unwrap the kitchen foil and serve hot.

How to Reheat Baked Brie in the Air Fryer

Considering that air fryers are very similar to ovens, you can use your air fryer to reheat your baked brie if you don’t want to use your oven. Just follow these steps:

  1. Cover The Brie
Use some kitchen foil to cover all of your baked brie loosely.
  2. Set Your Fryer
Set your air fryer to 120C and set a timer for 10 minutes.
  3. Put In Your Baked Brie
Place your foil-wrapped baked brie directly into the basket of your air fryer.
  4. Reheat
Now that your air fryer is ready, reheat your baked brie for the full 10 minutes without opening the air fryer.
  5. Check
After 10 minutes, carefully unwrap the foil from your baked brie to see if it has all melted. If not, reheat for a further 5 minutes, then serve!

How to Reheat Baked Brie Successfully

There is nothing worse than ruining a perfectly delicious bit of cheese. Baked brie is difficult to get wrong, but there are some issues you might run into when reheating the brie.

Here are a few tips to keep in mind when you plan to reheat your baked brie:

  • Don’t Forget To Cover – Leaving your baked brie exposed to heat, whether in your oven or otherwise, will quickly dry the brie out. This will prevent it from redeveloping that running texture that makes bake brie such a treat. So always wrap your baked brie in some kitchen foil when reheating it.
  • Properly Store Your Baked Brie – Once you have baked your brie, it is very likely to either dry out quickly or retain far too much moisture and develop mould. To extend the life of your baked brie, keep it refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 4 days for the best reheating results.
  • Avoid Your Microwave – Even if you turn your microwave down to the lowest setting, a microwave is designed to produce intense heat quickly. Baked brie needs to warm up slowly at a low heat which makes your microwave a poor choice.

Is It Safe to Reheat Baked Brie?

Baked brie, like most cheeses, is safe to reheat.

However, if you do not reheat the baked brie slowly on a low heat or you do not adequately cover the brie while storing it, then the cheese will not properly melt when reheated, which will ruin the texture of the baked brie.
